Description
The CAN Shunt Interface turns a standard 75mV current shunt into a CAN bus current sensor, so pack current can be read by the battery management system over the same CAN string as the monitoring modules.
Shunts cost less than hall effect sensors and hold a steadier zero point, which suits systems where average currents are modest, such as solar storage.
This listing is the interface only. It works with most 75mV shunts, including 100A, 200A and 500A sizes. It can read up to twice the shunt rating for short periods, but running a shunt continuously above its rating will overheat it.
Photo shows the interface with a 100A shunt. The shunt is sold separately.
